Chuck Sprowl Memorial Battle of Nashville Filling up Fast

July 9, 2010

The Battle of Nashville is filling up fast.  It has become the top preseason event in the area.  The games are held in Memory of Coach Chuck Sprowl, one of the founders of West Nashville Youth Sports (Broncos).  The games will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2010 at Montgomery Bell Academy (MBA).  It's an opportunty for your players to play on a absolutely stunning artificial grass field.  Also teams will have an opportunity to play on a great natural grass field and your parents and players will spend the day on the campus of one of the top schools in the country.

Along with the games are are a number of events.  On Friday, August 6, the Battle of Nashville Coaches Mixer.  All coaches of teams playing in the event will receive a ticket that admits them to the mixer held at a local venue.  There will be free food and a wide variety of beverages.  I'm certain there will be a lot of good natured bragging and lot fun. This is an adults only event.  Only coaches of teams scheduled to play in the event may attend.  Don't  miss the mixer or the games.

A few slots are still open but will fill up in the next few days.  If you want to enter your team(s) in the event or need additional information (rules, etc), contact Coach Word.  Email him at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it or call (615) 569-3817.  Don't delay.  We have to turn teams away that want to play in this event each year.

By the way, the is no cost for your team to enter the event and every team plays two games on the same day.  Yes, your oranization can have more than one team in the event.  Since the Battle of Nashville is a preseason event, there is none of the stress associated with post seasons tournaments just lots of fun for everyone.

Broncos On Movie Screens And TV Across The Nation

The Broncos are now showing around the world!  In early Spring the Broncos were contacted to arrange a football senario for a video shoot featuring famous country artist Laura Byrna.  The video was shot for the Air National Guard and her latest album titled "Trying To Be Me".  The video has now been released and is being featured on CMT (Country Music Television). will be shown as a commerical on theater movie screens and TV across the nation.  We don't have the exact times you can see it on TV or at the movies but below you will find a link to see the video.

Coach Word was contacted by the producers of the video (from Florida).  When asked why they contacted the Broncos, he said they wanted the best and thier researched revealed the Broncos were capable of putting together the football portion of this project, which also included securing another team in the Spring.  They realized how difficult this could be because teams don't practice during the time the video/commerical was scheduled to be filmed. They then "googled" Coach Word to attempt to contact him.

Yes you see the crowd has coats on (the video was set in November) but it was hot!! The football scenes were shot over 6 hours.  We didn't get away until after midnight.  Thanks to everyone who participated.  Click "LINKS" above on our menu bar to see the video.
